Background and Brief History

Victims of War

On April 22, 1971, John Kerry addressing the U.S. Congress, spoke immortal words of truth to power regarding the failed Vietnam war.

Each day to facilitate the process by which the United States washes her hands of Vietnam someone has to give up his life so that the United States doesn't have to admit something that the entire world already knows, so that we can't say that we have made a mistake. Someone has to die so that President Nixon won't be, and these are his words, "the first President to lose a war."

We are asking Americans to think about that because how do you ask a man to be the last man to die in Vietnam? How do you ask a man to be the last man to die for a mistake?

President Nixon lauched a domestic war at that time as well, a war America also lost, the war against cannabis. Hawai'i U.S. Senator Brian Schatz reports this domestic war kills Veterans, harms citizens and destroys employee careers — some 35,000+ in Hawai'i. And, today, how does this nation ask a man, any man or woman, to be the last human being punished for a mistake?

Victims of the War on Medical Cannabis

Lawyers for WNBA star Brittney Griner told Russian judges that she was prescribed medical cannabis to treat "severe chronic pain" caused by sports injuries. Brittney is Black, gay and a famous athlete. President Joe Biden exchanged the Merchant of Death for her release.

Brittney Griner

Scott Goold was prescribed medical cannabis to treat "severe chronic pain" caused by sports injuries. Asian women at Hawaiian Electric fired him — a White cis male and no longer famous athlete. The ladies stripped him of employment, income for his family and healthcare insurance. Would HECO management treat an Asian female with such cruelty and disrespect?

Brittney Griner broke the law in Russia, as well in the USA. Although a legal medical cannabis patient in the state of Arizona, her authorization does not apply to U.S. federal law. Similarly as in Russia, had Brittney carried cannabis oil through an U.S. airport, she could be stopped and arrested. Brittney knew the law in Russia and the USA.

Scott Goold did not break the law. Scott did not violate any federal or state law, policy or regulation. Asian women at Hawaiian Electric did not have to fire him. No federal or state law, policy or regulation requires a company to fire a non-safety-sensitive employee. They had a choice. Asian women at Hawaiian Electric choose to be like Vladimir Putin and be cruel.

Hawaiian Electric CEO Constance Hee Lau wrote the rules. Her Code of Conduct was the only policy information Scott received. He read the Code. Scott trusted CEO Lau. Been a stockholder for years. And, thus, he believed CEO Lau's words.

Connie banned "illegal" and "unprescribed" substances. Made sense. However, medical cannabis is both legal and prescribed in Hawai'i. Scott reasonably believed the progressive company permitted the medication.

Hawaiian Electric Code of Conduct

Most importantly, the Asian women at Hawaiian Electric fucked up! Not only were they cruel, they were incompetent. The company had additional policy.

The rules required the ladies at Hawaiian Electric to "make available" the complete corporate substance abuse policy to Scott. They did not. They were negligent and discriminated against him — a legal medical patient.

The Asian women at Hawaiian Electric are extremely smart, top students and have advanced college degrees. Obviously they can read. They knew the rules, yet withheld the substance abuse policy (SAP) from White male Scott Goold. Why? Cruel and incompetent. They failed, and then fired Scott.

Do you understand now why Scott Goold is frustrated and angry? They took his job. Labeled him a drug criminal and destroyed is professional reputation.

Wouldn't you be upset? Welcome to HECOgate. Stay tuned! This is the unraveling of a massive deception — part of the "deep moral crisis" in Hawai'i.

Failure to Inform

Not only did Asian women at Hawaiian Electric fail to provide the SAP to Scott, they deceived him when he specifically asked if his medication was permitted.

Scott had read the code, but wanted to be sure. So Scott asked his assigned HR rep, Elizabeth "Liz" Dear. She assured him he would be fine.

RESPONSE: HECO admits that Goold spoke to Deer (sic: Dear) on February 14, 2019. Deer (sic) was not an employee of HECO; she was an employee of a third-party that contracted with HECO to provide certain human resource services. Legally, of course, Dear is an agent of HECO.

NOTE: Ms. Dear, like Scott Goold, was a contract employee. HECO rules require the Asian women to make available the SAP to both Scott and Ms. Dear (see 9.0 Training above). HECO admits they cheated both Scott and Ms. Dear. The Asian women do not apologize, but instead terrorize Scott and his family.

RESPONSE (cont): HECO admits that Goold told Deer (sic) he had a medical marijuana (sic) certificate, and denies that Goold told Deer (sic) that he was disabled. Deer (sic) did not tell Goold he "would be fine," but told Goold, "I don't believe it will be a problem, but I will inform my supervisor of the situation and if there are any issues, someone will get back to you."

NOTE: First, Scott does not use the term, "marijuana." This is a racist, slang term created in 1937 to demonize Black and Brown people who use cannabis. Second, HECO admits Ms. Dear told Scott his medication "will [not] be a problem," but if his medication "is a problem," someone will get back to him. Nobody got back to him. The Asian women did not get back to him; did not inform him of a restriction on medical cannabis — until they fired him.

RESPONSE (cont): In these instances, Goold did not mention his disability or his use of marijuana (sic) for his disability.

NOTE: Scott did tell Ms. Dear he suffered injuries and had a disability. However, had the Asian women "gotten back to him," Scott would have been able to fully and completely explain his medical situation and disability. They did not get back to him. Scott believed he would be fine; and Scott did not believe he had any reason to provide more HIPAA-protected medical information to HECO.

Now, do you see how these Asian women cheated and discriminated against the injured, disabled White male?

But there's more ... much more.

RESPONSE (cont): HECO admits Deer (sic) informed Goold that he would be required to submit to a urinalysis, and that Goold told Deer (sic) his drug test would likely show use of marijuana (sic). Deer (sic) was not aware of HECO's policies regarding the usage of marijuana (sic).

NOTE: The Asian women admit they did not follow their own rules, policies and procedures. The SAP 9.0 Training requires, without exception, that the "policy shall also be made part of the recurring training program and made available to all agency temporary workers, contractors, consultants, and vendors."

That year, CEO Connie Lau made over $5 MILLION, and Susan Li, Sr. Vice President, General Counsel, Chief Compliance & Administrative Officer & Corporate Secretary, made some $750,000 for the year — but neither were sufficiently competent to provide a simple link to the HECO SAP so ALL agency employees, temporary workers, contractors, consultants, and vendors would be aware of the policy, as required.

Asian women fired Scott Goold. The White male was the competent one. Rather than terminate his employment, the Asian females should have asked the IT specialist to update their online HR files. Scott's proficient, talented and kind supervisor, Japanese American Lori Yafuso, had this to say about her employee:

YOU have been a great asset to our team and it is your personality and humble nature that makes all of us so comfortable working together. We have had contractors on the DBA team before, but never with the synergy and positive energy that you bring with you. I believe you have had the greatest influence in our success and glad that we selected the right contractor. You have definitely made your mark here at HECO and have set the bar very high for future contractors!

Thank you for being you…keep doing what you do…keep that good karma flowing!

Asian female management continues to make excuses for their collective and repeated failures, but fired Scott Goold, who had the "greatest influence" in the success of his workgroup. Scott was a MVP of the IT team — similarly as he was during his championship high school and collegiate days.

Management

On April 6, 2023, Scott Goold filed a discrimination complaint against Hawaiian Electric and a number of senior managers. Scott had sought only a professional apology and fair chance to return to duty. He wanted his reputation and career repaired. The managers, predominantly Asian females, denied his appeals. To this date, all parties claim they did nothing wrong.

Scott Goold wants to be clear that he admired all his coworkers. He respected and supported their leadership. Each could have assisted to end this dispute. None did. Arrogantly, they claim Scott was treated fairly.

Scott considers each of the individuals to be deeply caring, kind and gracious human beings. Why then were they mean to him? Scott does not believe the women would have treated a female employee this way.

Would you agree with Hawaiian Electric for taking away employment and healthcare insurance from a woman suffering breast cancer? Scott would object. To Scott, only mean girls would treat a male this cruelly — yet claim they acted professionally. However, Scott extends aloha and is open to ho'oponopono any time.

On March 2, 2023, HECO sponsored the Valley of Rainbows 11th Annual "Dawn of a New Era" Girls Leadership Conference at Aulani Resort and Spa. Sixth grade girls from Waianae, Leihoku, Makaha, Maili, Nanakuli and Nanaikapono Elementary Schools attended the conference and learned the skills and pathways to a bright future.

HECO's New Era includes girls; but excludes boys. Women Unite, they say.

HEI and HECO Promote Female Leadership But Do Not Include Men

HEI recognizes women: "Way to go, wahine leaders! Our HEI, Hawaiian Electric and American Savings Bank community leaders gathered at Aloha United Way's Chocolate, Champagne, and Couture For-A-Cause (C4) fundraiser event in March.""

Women are encouraged to unite; men not invited. Shouldn't HEI and HECO focus on uniting all our 'Ohana? Men like chocolate and champagne also.

The Champion Boys

Scott Goold was raised in a rural, small town farming community. Family life was traditional. Men worked the fields, wrangled cattle and did the heavy lifting. Women ruled the home, raised children and nurtured the community. It was a partnership.

Purpose of athletics was to develop positive character. Highland high school students were RAMS — Right Attitude Means Success. Major focus on excelling in the classroom; being disciplined; no drugs, tobacco or alcohol; respecting parents and teachers — and most importantly, giving back and serving their community.

Scott observed these same values in Asian coworkers at Hawaiian Electric. They had a perfect fit and formed a championship team as well.

"When pain comes to your game, come back fast ..." girls have their unique challenges, but don't understand the demands society puts on boys to be physical and strong. DRs over-prescribed NSAIDs for Scott. Can't take them.

Fortunately for Asians, they rarely suffer chronic pain. Unfortunately for other communities, Asians show little sympathy and empathy toward those who do.

Older people suffer the most chronic pain. Asian management at Hawaiian Electric is younger and uncaring about the needs of senior employees.
